Skin Disorder of Michael Jackson, What You Need To Know

Have you had problems with freckles or melanin spots? In the past, it is more popularly known as age spots or liver spots. Most people say that melanin spots can be considered as a non white ancestry indicator.

So what if you’re from a non white ancestry? It doesn’t really matter especially in today’s times, whether you’re from black or white ancestry.

Michael Jackson is a big name not only in show business, and though he may not like it, the prying eyes of many people will always be there. Many people are interested in his life because he is an entertainment figure, and most of all how he ended up as he is now, physically.

The amount and distribution of melanin in the epidermis or the outer skin determines the color of the eyes, hair, and the color of the skin. People with lighter hair and skin complexions have no or very little melanin.

Two forms of pigment melanin are present in the human skin. Since Michael Jackson is from the black race, the pigment melanin called eumelanin granules has a bigger proportion and is responsible for his black skin pigmentation. Eumelanin granules are smooth and round compared to the other pigment melanin called phaeomelanin granules which have irregular shapes.

Michael Jackson has gone through a lot of surgeries. And now he has a skin disorder or disease known as scleroderma or vitiligo. This kind of skin disease reduces or in worse cases destroys the skin’s pigmentation. Oftentimes, this would leave spots, white or lighter patches.

Naturally, freckles or melanin spots would emanate from persons having more melanin. Even if Michael Jackson looks more of a person from white ancestry, the recessive trait of dark/black ancestry will always be carried.
