Psoriasis Skin disorder: Its Cause and its Treatment
A skin disorder is not something to take lightly. Not only is it very irritating, it can also be very embarrassing. Who would ever get to wear shorts and wear a bikini or go topless in the beach ever again if you have scaly and swelling skin with blotches all over?
This is what a Psoriasis skin disorder does. They cause swelling and scaling of the skin. They usually start under the skin, cells would stay under and start rising about a month or so. When they do pile up on the surface of the skin, you will feel a burning and itching sensation. Although they can grow in any skin surface, they usually are found on the face, palms, elbows, knees, soles scalp and lower back.
Cause
Psoriasis has no solidly known cause, but many scientists believe that it is an abnormal growth of T-cells, a type of white blood cells, that sets off excessive skin cell growth. It is also believed that the Psoriasis skin disorder is inherited.
There are also factors that may trigger or set-off the Psoriasis skin disorder. This includes a change in weather causing dry skin, certain medications, infections and stress.
Treatment
There are three different types of Psoriasis skin disorder treatment. There is the topical, which makes use of ointments and creams that should be applied directly to the affected area, then there is the phototherapy, where it uses an ultra violet light to eliminate the symptoms and in severe cases, systemic treatments are given where medication is administered by a shot.
It would be best to talk about your Psoriasis skin disorder and the treatments you should have to insure that no side effects will happen.
