Skin Condition Of Retinol Acne

November 15th, 2008 omilana Posted in Skin Care Comments Off

There are many misconceptions about retinol acne despite being one of the most common skin conditions around the world; the main belief being that it only affects young people. In fact nearly 90 percent of people suffer from retinol acne sometime in their lifetime and whilst retinol acne is dreaded, it usually shows up during our teenage years and fortunately, many people outgrow it.

Our sebaceous glands produce oil called sebum which fouls up the hair follicles and contributes to retinol acne but this is not the only substance responsible. The oil clogged inside the pore, not on the outside of the skin is what makes a pimple although retinol acne is more of a contemporary problem and not a condition people in the past generally had to worry about.

Among the many causes of clogged pores are the use of makeup, everyday air particles and often a simple case of hormonal changes but while retinol acne is a part of life for many individuals, it can be effectively treated. Even out diet can play a part in the cause of retinol acne as much of our diet today is made up of unhealthy processed foods.

In more serious cases of retinol acne, some of the proprietary treatments may not be effective and it may be necessary to see a dermatologist. Having a dermatologist treat the condition is not such a bad idea as he or she will be able to better check on how well the treatment is he prescribed.

The person suffering with retinol acne must remember not to scratch at or attempt to remove and pimples as any bacteria carried beneath the nails could cause further infection.

Germs and bacteria are not normally seen by the naked eye so just because the fingernails look clean does not actually mean they are. So wherever possible, it is advisable to keep the hands, especially fingernails away from any retinol acne spots.

The chances of perfect skin are virtually zero and you are more likely to suffer with retinol acne if your parents also had the condition. In the vast majority of retinol acne cases though, it is caused by the transition from a child to an adult and the changes that take place during this period.

If necessary, retinol acne sufferers should consult a dermatologist or qualified physician for retinol acne treatment. Please be aware that the information here is provides as a guide only and does not try to replace the professional guidance supplied by a professional about the condition and treatment of retinol acne.

Why Do People Want To Use Skin Lightening Creams

November 15th, 2008 omilana Posted in Skin Care Comments Off

Would you like to know the best way to lighten your skin? I suggest you seek out a skin lightening cream that works for you.

Don’t you just feel depressed and annoyed when melanin is wrecking havoc on your skin? This crazy melanin production is definitely something to worry about. Deciding to buy what kind of skin lightening cream is extremely important now. The result of it could lead to a significant change on your skin. Therefore, I made it a point to put in more effort in learning about the products when trying to decide which one to buy.

It all boiled down to this. There is a recipe for a good skin lightening cream. Meladerm does the trick for me. Furthermore, there are no side effects to bother you. Take a look at Meladerm reviews and you will see countless success stories from it’s users. So, don’t disregard a product that has proven to do so much good.

I used to ponder which brand to buy. There is quite a bit to learn about skin bleaching. I thought that it was about time I acquainted myself with skin brightening, but I don’t want to ramble on about that here.

Skin lightening creams are one of the popular ways to deal with hyperpigmentation. Unfortunately, not all skin lightening products are safe. Don’t be surprised if you find some skin lightening creams that contain dangerous ingredients, including steroids such as clobetasol propionate, and hydroxyquinone, a chemical that is similar to paint strippers.

Dark skinned women are familiar with skin lightening. Having brighter looking skin is important to them. However, skin lighteners are favorite items in the list of many women, regardless of skin color. I am one of those many women as I really hate it when my skin starts to produce too much melanin. Many women are confident that these skin lightening products can solve their pigmentation problem. In addition, it improves their self esteem too.

I do not wish to blemish skin lightening products. If you really want to know if it works, you have to increase your knowledge on the product. If you had some concerns about skin lightening creams, I hope it’s been cleared up. Don’t forget life is short, don’t let too many things get you down.

What are the Symptoms of Psoriasis

November 13th, 2008 omilana Posted in Skin Care Comments Off

Psoriasis is a skin condition that affects close to one in fifty adults while also causing significant psychological suffering to those people that are afflicted with the problem. Clinical research has come to the conclusion that although psoriaisis manifests itself as a skin complaint, the actual cause is rooted in the immune system of the body.

There are a number of assorted symptoms associated with a flare up of psoriasis including salmon colored skin that becomes scaly, flaky and irritated. With plaque psoriasis, which is also the most commonplace form, the affected areas develop round, eliptical or irregular shaped areas of red which are covered with skin that is scaly and silver colored. The form and sizes of the patches varies widely and several smaller areas can combine together to form one large shape of irritated scaly skin. Besides being unsightly, these larger areas tend to crack and begin bleeding.

The area of affected skin can become really itchy and feel as though it is burning. There are no hard and fast rules as to how long any particular flare-up will last. It could last a week to twleve days or you may have to endure it for several weeks. One of the worst aspects for those affected is that it is a chronic condition and recurring flare-ups can happen at any time.

Areas of the body that are typically affected include the trunk, head, elbows and knees although any part of the body can develop symptoms of psoriasis. Flare-ups tend to be symmetric, meaning that both sides of the body will experience flare-ups in identical areas at the same time.

It appears that hereditary factors also play a part in who is likely to develop psoriasis. Individuals whose parents or grandparents suffered with the complaint have a greater prospect of developing it as well. For reasons that are not yet fully understood, T-cells, which are required by our bodies to produce infection fighting white blood cells, cause inflammation of the skin. T-cells also in some way trigger the production of an overabundance of skin cells. Since these skin cells are surplus to requirements, they simply stack up on top of each other and in turn produce the telltale raised patches on the skins surface. To sustain these additional skin cells, an increased blood supply is needed which results in the red appearance.

Although not the causes of psoriasis, common triggers include sunlight, strep infections and injuries, both past and present, to the skin Anxiousness and stress can also spark an outbreak as can alterations in hormone levels. Folks with early stages of HIV seem to have higher instances of psoriasis as well. Cigarette smokers who also consume alcohol increase their chances of developing psoriasis.

Presently, there is still no recognized cure for psoriasis. However there are several effective treatment choices that can ease the symptoms. Resisting the temptation to scratch the affected area and keeping it moist is a great start.

Localized treatments are employed first with a view to slowing the excess production of skin cells. Commonly employed localized treatments include anthrallin, coal tar, corticosteroids, salicylic acid and synthetic vitamin D. There are also a range of specially formulated skin moisturizers and bathing products. For more severe cases where localized treatments maybe ineffective, systemic medications may be prescribed by the physician. Phototherapy, where sufferers are exposed to medically-supervised UV radiation is also effectual in treating psoriasis.

Bags Under The Eyes: How To Get Rid of Them

November 13th, 2008 omilana Posted in Skin Care Comments Off

Bags under the eyes giving you a problem?  If so, you’re not unique!  This circumstance affects people of all ages, from adolescents all the way up to the elderly.  No matter your age, or whether you’re using acne products or wrinkle skin cream, it’s almost a sure thing that you’d do virtually anything to get them to go away.

If you’re like-minded to most people then you might have tested all the regular home treatments like putting cucumber slices on your closed eyes.  This remedy actually works because of the cold cucumber, rather than anything specific about that particular vegetable.

While you certainly can realize results from home treatments like that, you can receive much better options in a professional product.  The difficulty is that there are so many alternatives!  However, some of these alternatives will not give you the results you want.

Having bags under the eyes requires you to use a remedy with inflammation reducing qualities.  One possibility is to use Preparation-H on the under eye bags.  It really does work in a quick pinch.  So, if you have a special event you can always do that if there’s not much time to get ready.  Be careful to make sure none of the cream gets into your eyes.

Though a lotion like Preparation-H can work, it’s generally best to stay with a product that was specifically created for the under eye area.  This will help to make sure your eyes don’t get bothered and you’ll be sure that the product is effective.

So, how can you find a product to eliminate bags under your eyes that really works?  One of the first things you can do is read magazines and watch for the latest news developments.  It’s astonishing how often new remedies become available after testing for effectiveness.

Even though there are always new treatments they do not all work.  That’s why you need to do your research!  Some internet sites have already done the work of judging products for you.  These websites can give you a great idea of what other people’s experiences are.  Then you can feel safe using the product.

Once you’ve selected your method for removing the bags, you need to follow the product operating instructions.  You might be eager to see results now, but you have to remember that it can take a bit of time to work.  The happy news is that doing away with bags is often easier than wrinkles since any product with anti-inflammatory properties can make them better.

Another addition to eye remedies, you can also look into getting an eye-lift.  That’s a drastic course of action that you can use if nothing else has ever gotten results for you.  Right now, it’s best to stick with a product that is affordable and has a good track record of results.

Another thing to consider is that many wrinkle cream products also contain anti inflammatory ingredients.  If you feel that your skin would look better if you were using an wrinkle skin cream, you should be able to buy one product that will handle both things.

7 Skincare Tips To Healthy Skin

November 13th, 2008 omilana Posted in Skin Care Comments Off

To look wonderful, healthy skin is very important. Good skincare is important to prevent aging. As long as you take note of these tips to great skin, you do not need to spend a lot of money to see results.

- Determine your skin type. It can be normal, dry, oily, combination or sensitive. Don’t share skincare products with your sister or friend because we have different skin types. Different skincare products will cater to people with different skin type. Check the labels.

- Cleanse your face at least one to two times a day. This will help to get rid of dirt and other things on your face. To see how dirty the air is, you can try to use a piece of cotton pad with makeup remover to clean your face after a long day without makeup. The cotton pad is quite dirty after cleaning your face. Wash your face with water that is not too hot.

- Reduce your level of stress. Stress harms your skin and you may get an outbreak if you do not handle it well. Take a break, go for a spa or just take a dip in the Jacuzzi to relax. This will certainly help to improve your skin.

- Be gentle on your skin and do not use too much strength when you scrub or exfoliate.

- Keep your skin moist. In places with low humidity, your skin may crack easily. Wrinkles may appear. Your skin may appear dull. To prevent this, use moisturisers. When your skin is still damp after washing, apply the product to your skin so that it can work well.

- Do not use soap on your face. Separate your cleansing products for the face and body.

- Use sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun’s UV rays. Apart from your face, use them on your body. Wearing long-sleeved tops can help protect your skin as well. No matter what the weather forecast is, you should have sunscreen on you because UV rays are present even if you are in the shade.

By making minor changes to your daily life, you should be able to see healthy skin in a short time. For other important skincare ideas, check out these tips to healthy skin.

Some Of The Celebrity and The Common Peoples Wrinkle Treatments

November 11th, 2008 omilana Posted in Skin Care Comments Off

It’s hard to believe that Madonna and Demi Moore are both nearing fifty. “They must have had so many plastic surgeries,” some people say. Yet the fact of the matter is that wrinkle treatment is an affordable option for almost everyone. Whether you’re looking into reversing skin tightening with a moisturizer, restoring elasticity and youthful vigor with a collagen injection, lasering off age spots, or reducing lines and wrinkles with an anti wrinkle cream, you too can achieve “the look of the stars” without spending thousands.

The quintessential element in preventative treatment is simply sunscreen (SPF 15 or higher) and avoiding the sun during those crucial hours from noon to 3pm. Ninety percent of deep wrinkles are caused by sun-related skin damage, so don’t overlook the importance of slathering yourself up with lotion at the beach. As with all health-related things, exercise and diet are important as well. Instead of white bread, refined foods, cereals, sugar, and potatoes, try eating fruit, beans, vegetables, sourdough, multigrain bread, honey and sweet potatoes. Instead of bar soap and hot showers, take a warm shower and use body wash. The importance of a daily moisturizer after age twenty cannot be overstated.

Once the skin damage has already been done, there are still ways of obtaining healthier and younger looking skin. A good do-it-yourself method involves first using a scrub or exfoliator to remove dead skin cells, followed by a moisturizer and anti wrinkle cream or firming cream. There are special eye wrinkle creams and nighttime revitalizing creams that can restore the skin with essential vitamins. For instance, creams with vitamin A (like Retinol) help build collagen beneath the skin and minimize fine lines and wrinkles. Vitamin C (or ascorbic acid) is a powerful antioxidant that stabilizes collagen and aids in skin healing. Another antioxidant, vitamin E, helps reduce swelling and puffiness beneath the skin, while improving hydration and softness.

Some people prefer “all natural” cures. In addition to dieting and exercise, there are natural wrinkle treatment products on the market too. N-6 furfuryladenine (kinetin) found in plant cells and in vitro human skin fibroclasts serve as a natural wrinkle reducer. Some people are allergic to Retinol and vitamin C containing products, so Kinetin is a viable alternative. Green tea extract has been used by the Asians for centuries due to its anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant qualities. Q10 supplements keep free radicals moving to encourage younger looking skin and oral vitamin E or DMAE are options for triggering the body’s natural anti-aging processes too.

You may be wondering what the stars use for their wrinkle treatment? Nicole Kidman and Marcia Cross opted for Botox injections, while Halle Barry, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Cindy Crawford, Goldie Hawn and Jennifer Lopez went with “the face lift in a jar” Dremu Oil. Dremu Oil is made with emu oil and contains fatty acids that penetrate up to seven layers of skin to restore the body with elasticin, collagen and moisture. Brooke Shields, Jennifer Aniston and Sarah Jessica Parker use Epicuren, an anti wrinkle cream that uses enzymes to stimulate and improve cellular activity. Whichever treatment you choose, the most important thing is that your confidence will be restored along with your younger looking skin.

Wrinkles can just be a pain in the rear. Women do not get the luxury of looking distinguished. Its just crow feet or wrinkling around the mouth. It is enough to drive anyone to Botox or other cosmetic surgery. Before you start plunking down hundreds of dollars for the latest cosmetic treatment there are other options available to you. Some of these treatments may be facial exercises and others may be creams or lotions you can apply a couple times of day. There are ways around undergoing the knife to rid you of that pesky wrinkle. How Can Celebrity, Homemade and Basic Wrinkle Cream Help You In Your Quest For a Youthful Look?

November 11th, 2008 omilana Posted in Skin Care Comments Off

The secret to youth isn’t rocket science, but rather a combination of practicality, prevention and products. Exercise and eating a low carb, high vitamin diet are the practical way to healthy skin. You can prevent most skin damage by avoiding the sun as much as possible, by seeking shade, wearing hats and tight-knit cloth clothing, carrying umbrellas, slathering yourself in sunscreen and staying inside from noon to 3pm. Lastly, a wrinkle cream product later in life can help stimulate the body’s natural processes to give you younger looking skin.

Retinoid creams containing vitamin A are a favorite among actresses in their twenties. Some dermatologists swear off antioxidants, peels, scrubs and injections, in favor of reinoids when it comes to taking years off your face. Your doctor can prescription retinoids like Renova, Tazorac and Retin-A (the product Cher credited her youthful looks with), or you can opt for less potent, over-the-counter wrinkle creams, such as Neutrogena’s Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Intensive Face Lotion SPF 20.

Imagine wrinkle creams made of emu oil! Halle Barry, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Cindy Crawford, Goldie Hawn and Jennifer Lopez reportedly use Dremu Oil, which is sometimes referred to as “the face lift in a jar.” The anti-aging, anti wrinkle Dremu Oil can penetrate up to seven layers of skin and contains fatty acids that restore the body with elasticin, collagen and moisture. Dremu Oil has been featured in magazines like Vogue, Harpers, as well as Beauty and Fashion. A bottle will run you around $53.

In addition to being endorsed by Bo Derek, the TNS Recovery Complex system was featured on Oprah and The View. Some Researchers have called it the “Best Anti- Wrinkle Cream” for its ability to improve wound healing by using Nouricel-MD - a solution containing human amino acids, antioxidants, matrix proteins and soluble collagen with 93% concentration. Nouricel-MD helps reverse sun-caused skin damage, aging skin spots, elasticity and texture. Be aware that this is one of the more expensive wrinkle treatments on the market, going for $123 for the TNS Recovery Complex or $250 for the TNS Regeneration System.

Then again, some of us mad scientists would rather concoct our own all-natural wrinkle cream. Recipes vary all over the internet, but an easy one to try contains 2 tbsp cucumber juice, 1 egg white, 1 tsp lemon juice, 1 tsp rum or brandy and 1.2 tsp of Sodium Benzoate. Just beat the egg whites and add the rest of the ingredients, keeping your mixture refrigerated. Apply this as needed, or try a coconut oil massage around the eyes before bed time. Some people even swear by an apple juice concoction made with both apple and green pineapples, or a banana mash left on for 10-15 minutes to heal fine wrinkles and cracked skin. A warm washcloth smeared in honey, then followed with cold water is a good all-natural, weekly skin treatment as well.

End those fight with your wrinkles. You do not have to live with unsightly lines that age you beyond your years. You do not have to undergo expensive and painful cosmetic procedures to banish those lines for a while. Plus the procedures are not permanent. You will have to get them again in a few years. Instead of those options why not look into the new face creams and home treatments to banish the lines and those crow’s feet? They will not cost you as much and you can use them continuously. What Is The Significance Of Sun Damage In Relation To Skin Cancer?

November 11th, 2008 omilana Posted in Skin Care Comments Off

While the baby oil beach days may have felt amazing and your neighbor states that it’s a good idea to visit the tanning booth before going on vacation in Maui, sun damage is no joke. Unprotected sun exposure leads to lines and wrinkles, age spots, dryness, skin discoloration and possibly even cancer. Over time, the UV rays from the sun destroy our skin’s elastin. When these fibers break down, the skin will begin to sag, stretch and lose elasticity. The next thing you know, you’re barely 40 and getting face lifts, collagen injections and wrinkle treatments to heal your damaged skin. The saying “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” is especially true when it comes to sensible skin solutions.

Sun damage isn’t just manifested in sunburns or blisters. There are other effects that are more subtle but just as dangerous in the long run. For instance, deep wrinkles, dryness, freckles, mottled pigmentation and skin transparency are a few symptoms of sun damage. A yellow discoloration, known as “sallowness”, Telagiectasias, known as the dilation of small blood vessels beneath the skin, or Elastosis, known as the damaging of the elastic tissue that causes lines and wrinkles are telltale signs that skin solutions should be sought. Worst case scenario, pre-cancerous lesions appear as a result of the skin’s diminished immune function, which may also lead to full-blown cancer.

Though breast cancer and lung cancer get all the media publicity, skin cancer caused by sun damage is the most predominant. There are three main types of skin cancer: basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma. Ninety-five percent of all skin cancers are the basal cell and squamous cell types. Luckily, they are less serious and are very treatable if detected early. Seventy-five percent of all skin cancer deaths are a result of melanoma, which occurs when abnormal pigment cells (melanocytes) grow uncontrollably. What may start as skin cancer can spread to other organs and manifest itself as all sorts of cancerous mutations.

Researchers indicate that 80% of a person’s lifetime sun exposure is acquired before 18 years of age. Therefore, it’s extremely important that parents teach sun damage prevention tactics early-on. Kids should wear hats, tight-knit clothing and sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher and have limited exposure from noon to 3pm. As a parent, you needn’t be the “Sun Damage Nazi,” but rather, just be aware of the potential dangers and play it safe.

No one can look young forever. Not even Joan Rivers or Dick Clark is completely immune to the signs of aging. Sure you could get cosmetic surgery to erase those wrinkles but there are better methods that are less invasive and far cheaper. Why not try some of the new wrinkle creams on the market? They can reduce the signs of aging and provide you with a healthy, glowing complexion that will have your friends and family wondering if you have undergone the knife during some cosmetic surgery. Only you will know the real secret by clicking here for more information:

Skin Resurfacing - What Are The Advantages and Drawbacks?

November 11th, 2008 omilana Posted in Skin Care Comments Off

The emergence of fine lines and wrinkles, age spots, discoloration and spider veins can feel like a real emergency for those of us who work in the public eye. How can we possibly feel our best if we’re not looking our best? Whether you work as a fitness instructor or a newscaster, there are some wrinkle treatments that go beyond your typical anti wrinkle eye cream. Skin resurfacing and rejuvenation can revolutionize the way you view yourself, leading to a healthier and more fulfilling life.

Before you undergo a skin resurfacing surgery, there are several things to consider. For starters, you can’t be a smoker, extremely overweight or have unrealistic expectations. You won’t be paying for the fountain of youth, as you can only shave possibly ten years off your appearance with the procedure. Secondly, the doctor will have to go over your past history. If you’re a drug user or have a problem with alcohol, for instance, you’re not likely to be a candidate for cosmetic surgery. If you’ve had a lot of past treatments or severe allergies, then you may not be able to undergo resurfacing.

With any surgical procedure, there are certain risks involved. Infection, irregular pigmentation, skin surface textural irregularities, burns or scarring is all possible. Some possible side effects include acne and a form of Herpes Simplex, however most of the side effects are only temporary in nature. The most common side effect is hypopigmentation, or darkening of skin tone, and this occurs most frequently in people who have darker skin tones. They will experience a deepening, or in some cases, a loss of pigmentation within a month of surgery and it will persist for three or four months.

Another con with skin resurfacing is that continued treatments are required to maintain and maximize results. The cost of your procedure will include the surgeon’s fee, facility costs, anesthesia fees, prescription medication and medical tests. The good news is that most surgeons will work with you to create a finance plan to help you meet your needs.
