Definition of Skin disorder Deramaxx “Deracoxib” :
Deramaxx or Deracoxib is a drugs known as NSAIDs, and is member of the same class of other remedies such as; Advil (Ibuprophen), Orudis (Ketoprofen) and aspirin, usually used in dogs but has been pain relief and usually joint pain or post-surgical pain relief. Maybe you have seen in T.V. commercials for Celebrex or Vioxx for people, at time the use of Deramaxx or Deracoxib (for use in dogs) has been approved for use after surgery.
Nonetheless, there many problems with the use of this kind of drugs, because these have been unacceptable side effects, some problems in the past could be related to:
Stomach Ulceration: in some cases occured rupture of the stomach even perforation.
Platelet Deactivation: these ones are the cells that controlling tha ability to clot blood.
Decreased Blood Supply to the Kidney: which could tip a borderline patient in to kidney failure.
How we must use Deramaxx Medication:
At time deracoxib has been approved only for post-operative but in the near future its could be used without restrictions, thus Deracoxib or Deramaxx represents the latest generation in the search for a pain reliever without or minimal side effects:
• After a surgical procedure, start with deramaxx or deracoxib at least 2 hours prior to surgery.
• General rule; It is always better and easier to prevent pain than to relieve existing pain.
• A screening blood panel is recommended in long terms uses of this medication.
• To say that deracoxib or deramaxx is not recommended for patients with pre-existing kidney or liver disease.
• It may be necessary using an off-label treatment to relieve a patient´s chronic arthritis pain..
• The FDA is tolerant of off-label use of medications for veterinary patients if a labeled product, to say carpofren for instance, is not avalaible or effective.
Concerns and cautions of Skin disorder Deramaxx or deracoxib Treatment:
The cox-2 enzyme has beneficial circulatory effects in the kidney, but if this one is inhibited these affects are suppressed.
Deramaxx musn´t be used in patients sensitive to sulfa-containing drugs (it´s not recommended).
In conditions that involve significant circulatory disruptions (after a surgery for instance, where there has been more bleeding than expected) the use of deramaxx should be avoided.
Not use in the face of known liver disease as animals with liver disease do not remove drugs from their bodies normally.
Deracoxib or deramaxx can not be safely used in cats.
Deramaxx has been approved for use in dogs weighing greater than 4 lbs only. so it musn.t be used in dogs under age 4 months of age.
Deramaxx works best if it has been administered with food.
