Skin disorder called morphea scleroderma it’s a rare autoimmune disease that can affect skin and other organs system, replacing normal tissues with thick tissue (dense), it is not common find this disease in childhood but if it is, generally affects skin.

Morphea scleroderma may changes the skin in differents ways such as; lighter or darker coloring of the skin, thinning of the skin and loss of the skin´s ability to stretch, morphea scleroderma could start doing changes that might look like a bruise, injury or burn that has not healed properly, then with the time the skin could appear having ridges, depressed areas or pits very small that are seen mostly at the fingertips.

It is impossible to say what is the cause of morphea scleroderma, but many scientists thinks or believe that could involve a disorder of the cells lining small blood vessels, and also, scleroderma may be related to defects in the immune system, normally the body´s protective defense system causes damage to its own tissues.

Generally, the body´s immune system helps defends itself against disease and infection but when we are analyzing a morphea scleroderma patient, the immune system doesn´t do this, contrary the immune system produce too much collagen and this extra protein dose is deposited in organs and skin which causes hardening and thickening.

We must to say that scleroderma is not contagious and it is not inherited. And the 80% of people with morphea scleroderma is over 20 years age.

Other signs and symptoms of morphea scleroderma might be; Arthritis, curlings of the fingers, decreased hand functions, sores, digestive problems, itching, fatigue, muscle weakness.
